Filler can be used as a bit of a derogatory term. In the board gaming crowds it can sometimes carry the baggage of being games that are too simple to really enjoy or worth looking into. But, it really just means that the game tends to be more casual friendly, being easier to pick up and play, without wasting too much time.
When it comes to enjoying the tabletop space, there’s room for all sorts of games and gamers, including those that “just like filler games.”
