Killer Filler
Filler can be used as a bit of a derogatory term. In the board gaming crowds it can sometimes carry the baggage of being games that are too simple to really enjoy or worth looking into. But, it really just means that the game tends to be more casual friendly, being easier to pick up and play, without wasting too much time.
When it comes to enjoying the tabletop space, there’s room for all sorts of games and gamers, including those that “just like filler games.”
Below are some “Killer Filler” titles to look into (in no particular order).
"Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space" is a two-player card game in which one player takes on the role of aliens, trying to hunt down and kill the humans, while the other player controls the humans, trying to escape and survive. The game has a tense dark atmosphere and can be played in 20-30 minutes.
“Love Letter" is a simple card game in which players try to deliver a love letter to the princess while avoiding the interference of other suitors. The game has a medieval fantasy setting and can be played in about 20 minutes.
"Cthulhu Fluxx" is a card game based on the popular "Fluxx" system, with a Lovecraftian twist. Players must try to collect the right combination of cards to win, but the rules and available cards are constantly changing, adding a level of chaos and unpredictability. The game can be played in about 30 minutes.

"Spellslingers" is a fast-paced card game involving dueling wizards! The mechanics smash together strategy from popular TCGs with “one-deck” games like UNO. Players won’t have to worry about deck customization, as all play can be shared between one deck. The game is a great bridge game between players of many skill levels, and can be played with up to 10 players; with the game taking about 5 minutes per player to play.
