Top 5 of the GREATEST Board Games Like Among Us

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve been seeing the success of the game Among Us. It currently (as of writing this) holds the title as the #1 game on Twitch in terms of viewership.

Board game fans myself see this video game as a glorified cycle of a genre of board games that we play. Many of us are trying to use this as a means to try and get our friends on board (pun intended) with gathering around a table and playing some neat games together!

So, let’s dive into our top 5 shall we?!

5. Burke’s Gambit

I wouldn’t normally recommend a game I haven’t played myself, however this game’s themes are so close to Among Us that I can’t help but include it on the list, considering it’s all about hunting an infected imposter.

4. Coup

An interesting take on the genre, this one can fit your sci-fi needs while offering some different play elements than other games on this list, having it where you can “fake” abilities you actually shouldn’t have. This might be the closest to Among Us as a 1:1 comparison.

3. Secret Hitler

This game will be a hit or miss on premise alone. If the title “fits your fancy” then we say go for it! It’s one of the best in the genre.

2. The Resistance

This game is one of the most revered in the deception genre for board games and for good reason. There’s a hidden role and objectives, with the imposter sabotaging the missions.

If you read our Halloween board game list, then it should come to no surprise that we LOVE GROWL and it’s a great “traitor” or in this case, “imposter” game. While this game isn’t a sci-fi game like Among Us, the art is bold, colorful, and great and so is the gameplay. Definitely give this one a try if you haven’t yet!
