Searching for a wonderful future fantasy tabletop RPG? We don’t blame you. 

Whether it’s going on a harrowing journey with sword and machine gun in hand or slaying a dragon with a minigun; future fantasy specifically stands out of the crowd from the rest and is all the better for it!

But what fits “future fantasy”? 

Well, some great examples in media are:

• Final Fantasy

• RWBY

• Sucker Punch

But, if you can’t tell, there’s not too many options…

While there’s certainly more, those are legit the only ones I could come up with off the top of my head and with Sucker Punch on the list, you’re probably thinking I’m already scratching the bottom of the barrel. 

Everything But The Kitchen Sink

Now… let’s take a look at tabletop RPGs, what do we have? 

Shadowrun? It’s a lot of sci-fi with some heavy magic sprinkled on top, but what if we flipped it to be the other way?

Other than that you have some “universal systems” which I’m not too fond of because I think a game is more fun when a system is specifically made for it or heavily adapted to fit better.

But that’s a whole other mountainous subject altogether, so I digress. 

Bring Your Knives (and Guns)!

If you didn’t see it, Otherworlds just funded on Kickstarter and is a badass tabletop RPG that uses a simple, yet fast system using 6-sided dice. 

The character creation is deep, allowing you to make your own skill tree, highly customize your class, and perform a variety of moves that are easy to understand but provide a variety of fun for both storytelling and combat.
